PRC Express Renewal in SM Malls (UNAVAILABLE as of September 22, 2016)

=======================================================================
NOTICE: PRC LICENSE RENEWAL IN ALL CONSUMER WELFARE DESK IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE. PLEASE BE ADVISED. INFO FROM SM MASINAG.
UPDATE AS OF SEPTEMBER 22, 2016
=======================================================================

I would like to share my experience with regards to the process of my PRC License Renewal at SM Masinag. I was inspired to help others concerning this because of http://ideacrib.blogspot.com , her posting was a big help.

According to their website, there are PRC ID Renewal Centers in 9 Metro Manila Malls and 4 provincial malls, namely Metro Manila SM Malls, which include SM Mall of Asia, SM Novaliches, SM Marikina, SM Masinag, SM Manila, SM Quiapo, SM Harrison Plaza, SM Sta. Mesa and SM Sucat; and the four provincial malls; namely, SM Bacoor, SM DasmariƱas, SM Calamba and SM Lipa City.

As for me, I renewed my license at SM Masinag, 3rd level Cyberzone Consumer Welfare Booth.

What are the Requirements?

a. 1 copy of Front & Back Photocopy of your expired PRC ID ;
b. 1 pc passport size picture with your name in front of the photo;
c. Accomplish a PRC Renewal form (you may download the form here or ask one from the SM Personnel); and
d. Prepare P680 pesos for the fee.
e. You need to wear a shirt with sleeves and collar.

The Procedure:
- Proceed to the Consumer Welfare Booth and inform the personnel that you would like to renew your PRC license.
- Fill-out the form if you don't have it with you.
- The personnel will ask for your expired ID so she can encode your data for your claim stab.
- They will take a photo of you for the actual photo that would be use for your ID.
- Give the form, your passport picture and payment to the SM personnel for your claim stub and proof of payment.
- Then, wait for 1 1/2 months to claim your new PRC ID (yup, the 7 days is PRC's wishful thinking)
- You can claim your ID Mondays to Sundays 11am to 6pm at (for SM Masinag only) Lower ground level inside the department store, Customer Service Department (at the back of cashier 3). For follow-up you may call them at (02) 477 80 14 Loc. 123.
- Bring 1 valid ID when you claim the PRC License
- Bring the claim stub.

Total Amount of Time to Process:    approx. 8 minutes
(this will depend on the personnel who will process the transaction, sometimes they tend to take their time and disregard the fact that other people might be in a hurry.... I was being patient so I stopped myself from saying "Excuse me miss, can one of you talk to the phone and the other start attending to the concerns of your consumer?" They were entertaining a customer over the phone but they don't need to stop the processing because there are two of them assigned there to do the job simultaneously.... OK I will stop my ranting here. I'm still thankful that PRC decided to offer this kind of service)

Fees:

PRC Renewal Fee (as of Sept 2013)- PhP 630
SM Service Fee                               - PhP   50
Courier Service (optional)                - PhP   80
(If you would like to have you new PRC ID delivered just inform the personnel, but it would take longer time for you to have the ID)

Operating Hours (for SM Masinag)
Mondays to Sundays
10 AM to 7 PM

I am grateful that this kind of service was offered by PRC; You don't have to take a leave of absence just to process your PRC ID. You can process after office hours or over the weekend. :)
